Posted January 19, Hi, Now here's a good image of, if my memory serves me aright, a forum member on his Royal Enfield Bullet at the 'Old Codgers' trial. Does the member want to tell us all about it? Posted January 20, It could be a youthful Stan 'The Man' Metcalf? Steve still rides - I suspect he keeps his bikes as immaculate as always. Posted January 21, Hi jon v8, Sorry John, but no, Steve's bikes were always immaculate - perhaps he knew he had to get them past my scrutineering - or, better yet, wanted Mary and I to be attracted by the sparkle through our lenses!! Posted January 22, Just empathetic thoughts. With our going into you level of detail, I crashed and burned in the garden yesterday as well.
Bandages, lower back brace now and a very, very slow gait and munch wincing and a bir of growning when trying to get up from chair. Sorry to hear about the back brace. You are much worse off than me. Take care, Chris. When we get the bathroom changed around, I am sure we will have both a safety bar and a seat, Don. I know, I have taken a few falls like that, and one put me in the hospital. Be careful, stick to outpacing Ollie.
Thanks, Phil. I will be 70 in March, so not far off. I am very stiff and achey today, so have learned my lesson. Pete, I suffered from sever Vertigo a few years ago. I took a fall coming out of our hot-tub and knocked myself out on our concrete patio. My ENT doctor showed me the Lipsey Method that can be done at home and it cured mine withing a few days.
Our inner ear has crystals that if are jarred or out of alignment, cause vertigo. Look it up on the web. Over here it is called The Eply Manouvre, Phil. I no longer have to take the Stemetil tablets, but I have to be careful not to look up or down from a height for any period of time.
Hence no more ladders. Thanks anyway. I once heard an awful ripping and crashing from the bathroom where my boyfriend was having a shower. He saved himself by grabbing the curtain which broke his fall but I will never forget how my heart stopped when I heard the sound effects.
I do hope you have no serious injury! Just aches and pains thanks, Carolyn. It could have been worse had I hit my head harder. Glad to hear your friend was saved by the shower curtain. That film scared the daylights out of me. I was 14 I think. Oh dear…the sort of thing that happens to me on a regular basis, and I have a cleaner to do the housework now. And I recently got a wetroom with a shower enclosure installed to reduce the mishaps… life, eh?
I am sorry that happened, and hope you are feeling okay. But today brought it home. Thanks, chuq. It is hard not to do stuff, but then that stuff reminds you! Oh no. Old codgers need to be careful, lol.
I had one of those Brita filter jugs in London. It worked out more expensive than buying new kettles. Oh no Pete! The procedure is on the morrow. I may not be in a position to send out notes until Friday noon. Warmest regards, Theo. Probably because I hit my head this morning. Thanks, Liz. Thanks, Cathy. Most accidents happen at home as you probably know from ambulance days — the moral of the story is never do housework when alone in the house!
We were very happy to get rid of our bath with its telephone shower fixed to the side and have a walk in shower. We had never been able to get a quote on the small awkward bathroom, but son and daughter-in-law built it as their first bathroom job! It has stood the test of time over two years and visitors staying are happier!
Ps I know couples who never share a bathroom! You might want to get checked out in case you sustained a head injury. I think I will be okay, Sarada. I use my years of ambulance experience to assess any damage. Oh my. You need to be careful in a bath these days. It could have been worse. My friend broke her back slipping in the tub. You will probably feel it tomorrow. You are commenting using your WordPress.

Thanks for all the reblogs, Michael. Oh, no! Welcome to the Old Codger Club. I have been a member for a while. I was lucky the injuries were not worse, Jennie. You were, Pete. It could be said that If the factory made Trials versions of a Bike then all still exist today!
Such is the enthusiasm for the old machines that literally New bikes can be made up from all the Pattern "Spares" that are now available. However there are a few Bikes that might fit the bill.
However the market is pretty small so even they are rare. They are close to your price point so could be worthwhile looking at. Beta, Scorpa and Sherco also did 4t's but they are rare. I'd go with the Beta if you could find one in REV3 form.
The later EVO frame would be a bit expensive. Relatively cheap, good on parts, John Lampkin has a sky high reputation , and easy to ride without tearing your biceps off. The One you have seen could be good but see it as an introduction back into Trials generally.
Modern Bikes are very light and can do some very stupid obstacles. The Veteran scene is all about the Bling or the friends riding with you. Oh and watch out for the rules. There are Stop and No-Stop rules. Older bikes on easier course run No-Stop. Modern Stuff run Stop with the easier courses not needing to Stop but giving the riders who like a challenge the oppotunity to fling themselves up rocks and bounce around corners.
For Advice and a marketplace for all Trials Bikes try www. Edited by telecat on Wednesday 15th July That little Scorpa did so much right. Martin Crosswaite did a lot to push that bike as a Modern alternative to a "classic" for those just wanting to get on and ride.
Getting a Project will be a bit of a mission. Having said that plenty love em!!
